No likes on Hinge? See what they'd actually comment on

On Hinge a like lands on one specific photo or prompt, and the ones that come with a comment are the ones that turn into dates. Upload your six photos and paste your three prompts: you get a profile score, the item most likely to draw a comment, a rewrite of the answer that gives people nothing to reply to, and the order to fix things in.

It does not stop at the photo score.

RateSelf reads your three prompts the way a match does, rewrites the one that gives them nothing to reply to, tells you which photo should lead, and points at the single item on your profile most likely to get a comment.

One example. Your profile gets its own read.

No likes on Hinge? Here is what is actually going wrong

Almost always it is one of four things, and none of them is the algorithm.

First, your first photo does not read in a second: face too small, too dark, sunglasses, or you are one of five people in the frame.

Second, your prompts are answered with one word or a cliché, so there is nothing to comment on and a like on them would feel random.

Third, your six photos tell the same story, six selfies or six group shots, and there is no single frame worth choosing.

Fourth, your daily likes go to profiles that will not like you back, and Hinge learns from who you like.

The review shows which of the four is yours and what to change first.

Do my prompts really matter more than my photos?

On Hinge they carry real weight. A like has to land on something specific, and Hinge itself says likes that come with a comment are far more likely to become a conversation, and that prompt likes lead to more dates than photo likes. A prompt answer that gives someone a handle to reply to does work a photo cannot. That is why this review reads all three.

What makes a good Hinge prompt answer?

Specific over general, one concrete detail over three adjectives, and a built-in reason to reply. "I love travelling" gives nothing. "Got lost in Lisbon and ended up at a stranger's birthday dinner" gives a question, a picture and a laugh. Avoid "ask me", avoid lists of demands, avoid answers that could belong to anyone.

Am I shadowbanned on Hinge?

Hinge does not confirm shadowbans, and in most cases the drop has a plainer cause: the boost every new profile gets ran out, and what is left is the profile itself. If likes fell off after the first weeks, fix the profile before you reset the account. A reset brings the same profile back to the same people.

Should I delete and restart my Hinge profile?

Rarely worth it. A fresh account gets a short visibility bump, then lands exactly where the old one did if the photos and prompts are the same. Change the profile first, then judge the results over a couple of weeks.

Does Hinge+ or HingeX get you more likes?

They show you more, they do not make you more likeable. Hinge+ lets you see who liked you and removes the daily like cap; HingeX adds priority and better recommendations. Neither rewrites a flat prompt or fixes a dark first photo. Sort the profile, then decide whether paying Hinge is worth it.

Which photo should go first on Hinge?

The one where your face reads instantly: daylight, eyes visible, no sunglasses, alone in the frame, a natural expression. Your first photo is also what appears in Standouts and Most Compatible, so it does double duty. The review scores every photo and tells you which should lead.

How many photos and prompts do I need?

Hinge asks for six photos or videos and three prompts, and a complete profile simply gets more chances to be liked because there is more to like. Upload up to six photos here and paste your three prompts as they appear on your profile.
